How a transfer works

1. Tell us who and how much

Give the recipient's name and either an M-Pesa number, a bank account or a pickup branch. Quote the amount in your own currency.

2. Pay and get a reference

Pay at a branch, by bank transfer or by card. We lock the rate and give you a reference number to track.

3. They collect

M-Pesa and bank payouts usually arrive within minutes to a few hours. Cash pickup needs the recipient's ID and your reference.

Transfers over the regulatory threshold need proof of source of funds. We screen every transfer under Kenya's anti-money-laundering rules.
